Two Brownstock festival-goers who died last weekend have been named.
Jonathan Graham, 33, from Chelmsford, had attended the festival in Lower Burnham Road, Stow Maries and was taken ill after ingesting a substance, thought to be 5-EAPB.
At his inquest, which was opened this morning, it was claimed that he had taken an illegal drug.
He died at Basildon University Hospital at 11.08am on Sunday.
A second man Paul Wickerson, 32, of Leatherhead in Surrey, died on Saturday after he was hit by at least four cars after leaving Brownstock.
He was walking towards Fambridge - either across the fields or along the roadside - when he was in collision with vehicles on the Lower Burnham Road, near the Fambridge Road junction, at 10.45pm on Saturday.
He was found on the verge of the road and was dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination revealed he died of multiple injuries.
Essex coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray requested a toxicology test and a report by the traffic investigation unit at the inquest.
The inquests were adjourned until October 7.
