IT'S the people who make a place and another dip into our photo archive has uncovered dozens of pictures from Colchester's past.

We've got five different spreads to share with you - this is the first - including as many faces as possible.

They range from sports teams and sea cadets to dancers, school teachers and wedding parties to show how the people of our town looked through the ages.

We'd love to know if you can spot anyone you recognise - perhaps a family member, an old teacher or even a familiar place that hasn't changed over the decades.

Email matt.plummer@newsquest.co.uk if you have your own old pictures to share and be sure to join our We grew up in Colchester and Tendring Facebook page.
