EVER wondered how the other half live - or more specifically, how much their houses cost?

We’ve consulted property experts Zoopla to find out the most expensive streets in Mid Essex and how much they estimate a house on one of them could cost.

So if you have a £1million+ to spend, then here are some places you could be splashing the cash.

While the average price for a house listed on Zoopla in Maldon is £301,905 there are also some eye-wateringly priced mansions for those with the deepest pockets.

According to Zoopla, Lodge Road in Woodham Mortimer is the most expensive street in the Maldon district with the average house costing £1,784,918. This is a rise of 5.66 per cent in just 12 months.

The last property sold here in October 2019 cost between £757,000 and £837,000.

The next highest value street is Tudwick Road in Tolleshunt Major, where house prices have also risen 5.66 per cent in the last 12 months, costing an average of £976,757.

Third on the list is village of Woodham Walter where house prices can reach up to £906,531.

In Braintree the average price for a semi-detached house was £279,079.

But the highest value streets are in Great Bardfield, costing an average of £1,109,335.

The last property sold here in April 2019, cost between £1.37 million and £1.52 million.

There has been a rise of 6.17 per cent in the last 12 months.

Homes in Shalford Green are next, costing £978,027, another rise of 6.17 per cent in the last 12 months.

In at third is Oxen End in Little Bardfield where homes cost an average of £812,975.

In Halstead a semi-detached house would set you back on average £292,518.

But if you were after something a bit more plush then there are plenty of places to spend your money.

The highest costing homes are in Burtons Green, where they cost an average of £925,963, a staggering jump of 8.23 per cent in the last 12 months. The last property sold here for around £745,000.

The second highest value street is Halstead Road in Sible Hedingham where homes cost £870,262.

It equated to another big jump of 8.23 per cent in 12 months.

Lastly is Lamb Lane, Sible Headingham where homes cost an average of £823,512.
