THE world is a very different place now compared to when these pictures of Colchester High Street were taken in the 1980s.
However, in terms of our town centre, there is something strikingly familiar.
Shops have come and gone, of course - just as they have in retail areas up and down the country.
However, these pictures depict a familiar buzz of shoppers scurrying and going about their business, with cars and buses passing by.
One observation, though, is that there appears to be less traffic then compared to now.
What are your memories of Colchester High Street?
Did you work in a shop during the 80s or 90s?
Perhaps you have fond memories of socialising in the town, meeting friends in pubs and nightclubs.
