A SOLICITORS kept serving the public throughout lockdown despite staff having to work from home.

Fisher Jones Greenwood (FJG), based in Newcomen Way, Colchester, switched to video calls, telephone and email to keep its operations running.

During that time teams adapted and even ended up signing wills on car bonnets and greenhouses to ensure things ran smoothly.

The firm’s offices are now back open and welcoming clients by appointment with social distancing and safety measures in place.

Staff are also wearing face coverings and all meeting rooms are thoroughly cleaned after each appointment.

Paula Cameron, managing partner at FJG, said: “At FJG we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt and evolve with speed and determination to excel for our clients.

“This has been tested over the last six months or so and I have nothing but pride and admiration for everyone within the firm that have helped us to where we currently are.

“Everyone has pulled in the same direction, communicated well and remained good humoured.

“We circulated videos of various teams in their homeworking environments within our weekly updates and shared our differing experiences.

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

“Those with young children adapted to flexible working to ensure the needs of their family were met adding to the 46 different working patterns which already existed within the firm.”

FJG has more than 130 legal experts and support staff across all of its office locations in Essex and London.
