A WOMAN has been jailed for 20 weeks for assaulting four police officers.

Samantha Martins also assaulted a member of the public and damaged his iPhone.

The 25-year-old also stole booze, aftershave and electrical goods from a house in Normandy Avenue, Colchester.

Martins, of Eldred Avenue, Colchester, admitted burglary, criminal damage, assault, possession of cannabis and four counts of assaulting an emergency worker at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

She was jailed for 20 weeks and must pay out £500 in compensation.

A DRINK driver caught more than double the legal limit has been banned from the roads for two years.

Neil Sadler-Smith was driving a BMW 320 in Walnut Way Tiptree when he was found to have 96mcgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35.

The 61-year-old, of Hedge Drive, Colchester, admitted drink driving when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

He must pay £257 in court fees on top of his ban.

A THIEF has been banned from Co-op and One Stop shops after a stealing spree.

Daniel Archer took coffee, chocolate and cheese from the Colchester stores on three separate occasions in June and July. He admitted theft at Southend Magistrates' Court.

Archer, of Willingham Way, Colchester, was given a drug referral order and banned from the shops for two years.

The 34-year-old must pay £82.50 compensation.

A THIEF stole ink cartridges from a supermarket.

David Boles took £122 worth of the items from Tesco.

The 52-year-old, of Tarrett Drive, Colchester, admitted theft and possession of cocaine when he appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court.

He was fined £160 and must pay another £179 in court charges. The drugs will be destroyed.
