A coastguard assisted an ambulance with evacuating a person suffering from chest pains in the rising tide.
South Woodham Coastguard Rescue Team were called to help the casualty on Northey Island shortly after 1pm on Tuesday (June 23).
Crews help assist the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and West Mersea Lifeboat Station with the rescue as the tide was rising.
On arrival at the RVP (Hythe Quay Maldon) coastguard offices boarded the lifeboat with the Ambulance team to assess the casualty.
The casualty was airlifted to hospital due to the rising tide.
Coastguard officers assisted Essex and Herts Air Ambulance with a landing site and assisted with escorting the casualty.
In a post on Facebook, South Woodham Coastguard said "We would like to wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
