A TEAM of volunteers are hosting a concert for a children’s charity.

Aidan Kelly, from Braintree, has organised an evening of music from local choir Vocal Reflections at St Paul’s Church in the town.

Proceeds will go towards PARC children’s charity, based at Great Notley Country Park.

The charity provides facilities for children with additional needs and short breaks for their families.

Aidan’s son Luke has autism and goes to PARC.

He said: “Luke is a regular attender and I have long been a supporter of PARC.

“Without donations and all the fundraising they wouldn’t be able to do the work they do.

“They do so much for us as a family.

Aidan is also taking on the Brighton Marathon as part of the Run for PARC 2020 team.

“This will be my first marathon,” he said.

“I’m part of the team and so far I’ve raised £400.

“There six of us so we should be able to raise at least £6,000.

The rest of the team is made up of Esther Harrod, Leanne Leport, Jono Hale, Sue Taylor, Rich Port and Ali Howard who will all be running the London Marathon rather than the Brighton one.

Frederike Walter from PARC said: "Aidan and his family have been tirelessly fundraising for PARC for many years and we are incredibly lucky to be able to benefit from his efforts.

"Fundraisers such as Aidan are invaluable to a small charity like PARC, as we rely on fundraising and donation to be able to offer the service we do to all our families."

The Vocal Reflections concert is at St Paul’s Church at 7pm on Saturday, March 7.
