A COMMUNITY shop has celebrated its 10,000th customer just six months after it opened.
Purleigh Community Shop was launched in the village last year.
Volunteer June Parish is pictured handing over a presentation box of Maldon chocolates to lucky customer Diane Warren after she became the 10,000th customer.
Diane goes into the shop every day to pick up her newspaper and other items.
Shop chairman Tony Ashton said: “We’re delighted that our shop has become such an integral part of the village and is getting such support from our residents, volunteers and suppliers.
“We’ve concentrated on supplying fresh local produce wherever we can and look forward to continuing to meet the demands of our customers.”
