HUNDREDS of shoppers descended on a charity’s headquarters for its much-loved festive celebration.

Families and friends enjoyed browsing the stalls at the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation’s Christmas Fayre.

There was everything on offer from artisan chocolates, cheeses and Christmas crafts to children’s books and jewellery.

The charity is still counting the total raised but it is sure to be thousands of pounds.

Tom Bowdidge died in October 2014 having fought an aggressive stomach cancer. He was 19.

During his illness, he raised an incredible £170,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

His parents, Richard and Nikki, have continued his good work, setting up the foundation in his name.

Nikki said: “I don’t think I sat down all afternoon.

“People just kept coming through the door to see the amazing stalls we had.

“The foundation is always so well supported by people from across West Bergholt, Colchester and beyond and we can’t thank them enough for coming to our latest fair.

“We love the fantastic independent traders who really do make our fair extra special and this year they didn’t disappoint.

“Everyone needed a mince pie to recover afterwards.”

It is the third time the charity has held the festive fundraiser.
