THREE new lunch clubs have been set up to help feed families.

The Monkwick Munch Club, based in Colchester, provides lunch for children and their families who normally receive free school dinners.

It ensures the children do no go hungry during school holidays.

The group was so popular that club founder Maureen Powell made the decision to launch three more clubs across Colchester.

The clubs rely on food donations from individuals, community groups and businesses, including Colchester Foodbank.

The Monkwick club is held at the 5th Scout Hall in Queen Elizabeth Way.

It will be held on October 28 and 30, from noon.

The Old Heath munch club is held at St Barnabas Church Hall in Abbots Road.

It will be held on October 29 and 31, from noon.

The Greenstead club is at Greenstead Social Club in Blackthorn Avenue.

It will take place on October 28 and November 1, from noon.

The New Town club takes place at the GO4 Cafe in Recreation Road.

It will be held on October 29, from noon.

Booking is essential as space is limited.

If anyone would like to donate fresh, canned or dry produce, or who would like to sign up to attend the club, they should contact Maureen Powell at maureenpowell1952@yahoo.co.uk or call 07974 113341.
