A SINGLES group from Braintree are flashing the flesh to create ‘dad bod’ calendar to raise awareness for mental health.

The 2020 calendar, which will be put together by 19 men who are all going shirtless for the campaign, will be released in January and all proceeds will go towards charity.

The group, who met on the North Essex Singles Facebook group, ‘North Essex Singles’, have chosen Mental Health Foundation as the projects charity.

Organiser Anthony Jefferson, from Braintree said: “We just want to raise awareness of mental health, but we wanted to do something different to do it.

“I have been inspired by the loss of a dearly regarded young man by the name of Harrold Greenwood, who was a member of the singles group who lost his battle with depression earlier this month.

“We are out to highlight the importance of men who do not speak up that just knowing they are not alone and there is help and support by the way of many mediums.

“The guys who have agreed to take part in this project are so brave and to take part means a lot to them through some connection of mental health.”

The group are planning to shoot the calendar in November and be ready to sell in December.

The calendars will available to purchase through Facebook and other platforms.
