A SCOUT group found an unusual place to sleep during their summer trip to Germany.
The 1st Silver End scouts spend 10 days at Castle Rieneck in Bavaria where they enjoyed learning all about the area and culture.
The castle dates back to the 12th century and has now been converted into a hostel for boys and girls who also get the chance to try their hand at a host of outdoor activities to visitors, such as go-karting and archery.
During their trip, the scouts completed a hike through a forest and overcame their fears on the high ropes.
There was more fun to be had at a nearby theme park where the children had a go at tobogganing.
The scouts then spent some time at an SOS village, which a community facility for 165 adults who all have disabilities.
Next year the scout group will heading to the Essex International Jamboree.
