A MAN has been remanded in custody after being arrested on suspicion of firearm offences.
Emergency services cleared a house in Colchester Road, Elmstead Market, after a chemical alert which police believed was linked to drug activity.
Frazer Jamieson, 48, ,of Colchester Road, Elmstead, was later charged with attempting to possess a prohibited firearm and attempting to possess ammunition without a firearm certificate.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court and will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court in September.
He was remanded in custody until his next hearing.
