Police were called to a car which had left the A12 and crashed into a road sign.
Officers were called to junction 28 by the Jobserve Community Stadium on Tuesday evening.
In a Tweet temporary sergeant Richard Lewington said: "Night Duty Team briefed and out already in #Colchester Firdt job was to an RTC on #A12 seems this driver took the sign a little too literally!! Thankfully no injuries."
