PARENTS and carers were invited back to school as youngsters got stuck into a health and wellbeing week.

It saw Year 5 pupils at Great Bradfords Junior School, in Braintree, taught about how to keep their bodies and minds healthy and how different things can impact on them.

On one of the days, parents and relatives were invited to join in with some of the activites, which included yoga and lessons on what can make up a balanced diet.

They also looked at how much sugar is in some drinks and how to make the best choice to stay hydrated.

The youngsters also made a variety of healthy snacks and had a go at making their own healthy smoothies.

Fruit and vegetables were donated by Marks Farm Tesco, Braintree Sainsbury’s and Reading’s Greengrocers in Springwood Drive.
