An award-winning food delivery service is on the hunt for local drivers, riders and cyclists ahead of its launch in Braintree next month.

Deliveroo, a takeaway drop-off business which aims to have hungry foodies scoffing down their orders in as a little as 15 minutes, is appealing to those with cars, bicycles, scooters or motorbikes to operate in Braintree.

They will be responsible for simply collecting an eclectic mix of cooked-to-order and freshly prepared foods from a range of restaurants and eateries across the district, before delivering them to the doors of grateful, and sometimes hungover, recipients.

As well as the financial benefits, the new riders will automatically be enrolled in a first-of-its-kind free insurance package to ensure they are covered while out on the road.

Managing director of Deliveroo in UK and Ireland, Dan Warne said: “We’ve seen a huge demand for Deliveroo in Braintree and we’re excited to be launching this month - we’re really excited to be creating new work opportunities for local people.

“The team is looking for people with passion, drive and great customer service, who are seeking the added benefit of flexible hours amongst other perks. We would encourage anyone looking for a fast paced and active job to apply through our website.”

Deliveroo is mainly recognised for its initiative app, which allows people to place their orders up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible from independent eateries, traditional takeaways and high-quality chain restaurants.
