A CELEBRATED garden designer and radio personality will offer budding green fingers an insight into the world of both horticulture and show business during an open day next week.

Bunny Guinness, renowned gardening expert and the star of BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time, is holding an exclusive and in-depth chat in the beautiful grounds of Braxted Park Estate in Witham.

The informative and light-hearted address, which is in aid of charity Horatio’s Garden, is part of the National Garden Scheme’s open day and will see Bunny delve into her experiences behind the scenes of TV and radio and with designing mesmerizing gardens.

Essex County Organiser for the National Garden Scheme, Susan Copeland, said: “We are delighted that once again we have a talk from a high-profile speaker at this very special annual Open Garden.

“Braxted Park is a Grade II park of ‘exceptional significance’ and we are most grateful to its owners Duncan and Nicky Clark, along with their fantastic team, for their generosity and support of the charity and the National Garden Scheme.”

The open day will also offer guided tours led by head gardener Andrea Cooper who will take guests around the usually private and picturesque estate.

The National Garden Scheme’s open day will take place on June 11 from 10am-4pm.

Standard admission to the event will be £6 but those looking to attend Bunny Guinness’s talk, which will start at 12pm, will be required to pay £15 for a ticket.
