YOUNGSTERS will be offered the chance to try their hand at a new sport as part of a

district-wide initiative.

Fusion’s leisure centres in Braintree, Witham and Halstead have launched multi-

activity programmes to encourage young people to get fit and stay healthy.

The centres in Braintree and Witham will launch their first session of the eight-week initiative tomorrow evening, with sports such as ju-jitsu, athletics and trampolining on offer at the centre in Panfield Lane, Braintree.

The session, which is funded by Essex Youth Service, is free to all and runs from 6pm until 7pm each week until Friday, July 26.

Those who attend six or more sessions will be eligible for a free month’s junior membership.

Meanwhile at Witham Leisure Centre, in Spinks Lane, children and youngsters can try hockey, mixed team sports and fitness sessions as part of the programme on offer at the centre.

The sessions cost £2 and will also run between 6pm and 7pm each Friday. Members can enter for free.

Anyone attending the sessions at any of the leisure centres must book a place in advance.
