In this week's Braintree and Witham, we bring you news of a terrifying ordeal in Witham where two people were attacked with a bottle.

The man and woman were rushed to hospital after the assault and thankfully police say they have since been discharged.

The pair were attacked in Newland Street late one night after they refused to give a man a cigarette.

Essex Police is appealing for information about the attack and is keen to speak to those who assisted the victims immediately after the assault.
