All hail to director Andy Millward and the Kelvedon Players for providing such an incredible theatre performance of Terry Johnson’s Insignificance – proving it’s anything but.
In this comedic American tragedy, the cast’s accents and pace were pitched perfectly.
Russell Winsor was The Professor personified and I loved John Elliott’s serious intent as The Senator. Michael Howard also added fabulous physicality that filled out The Ball Player.
As for Heidi Hamber, her sensational performance captured the flamboyance of The Actress but also importantly conveyed the emotional brutality of her life.
Props and costumes supported the action superbly and lighting and sound were just what the plot demanded.
Audiences missed this award-worthy production at their peril.
