Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash in Braintree Road, near Cressing, this afternoon (May 21).
It is believed a lorry was one of the vehicles involved in the incident which happened outside Cressing Primary School at around 3pm.
The road was partially blocked and drivers looking to travel between Braintree and Witham were advised to find an alternative route.
However, the incident has now been cleared.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "Three ambulances and two hazardous areas response vehicles were sent to a serious road traffic collision at Braintree Road near Cressing shortly before 3pm today.
"Four people were assessed at the scene and two were transported to Broomfield Hospital."
