POLICE are investigating a violent armed robbery incident at a train station where a young man was cut.

They were called shortly after 12.10am on Tuesday (May 21) with reports of an attempted robbery that happened at Burnham railway station.

At about 11.30pm on Monday (May 20) outside the station, a 20-year-old man was approached by a man who attempted to grab his bag.

A police spokesman said: “The victim ran off and the suspect left the scene empty-handed.

“The victim suffered cuts to his arms from an unknown weapon and was later taken to hospital for treatment.”
