A PUB is celebrating after its FIFTH consecutive win in the contest to find the Colchester and north east Essex Rural Pub of the Year.
The Black Buoy in Wivenhoe has secured the Camra award...again.
It is the fifth consecutive year CAMRA members have catapulted the pub to number one following its relaunch as a community pub in 2013.
Despite being a pub for more than 300 years, the site became run down before being saved as shareholders from within the community came forward to take it over.
Manager Shane Diggens said: “It’s a great honour and I’m very proud of my team.
“We’ve gone from strength to strength since reopening the doors in November 2013.”
“CAMRA members voted and I’m so thankful to them all.
“I just hope the rest of the year is as good as the first half which has been amazing.”
