POLICE are appealing for information after an officer suffered injuries from being dragged along the asphalt by a car.
The incident which took place in Hamberts Road, South Woodham Ferrers at around 7.30pm yesterday (April 18).
The dog handling officers signalled to a black BMW 5 Series car to stop.
The vehicle stopped and one of the officers attempted to remove the keys from the ignition.
However, the driver sped off and pulled the officer over, causing him to suffer grazes along an arm and his legs and shoulders.
The vehicle was later found abandoned at the Whalebone Pub in South Woodham Ferrers.
The driver, who has still not been found, has been described as tanned, aged in his 20s, with dark hair in a side parting and had scars over his face.
