A WOMAN and her dog were hit by a car carrying out a u-turn on East Hill.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the crash, which happened today at about 2.20pm.
It was close to the Firstsite bus stop at the top of the hill.
A police spokesman said: "We received reports that a pedestrian and her dog, a husky, were on the pavement when a silver Vauxhall Astra did a U-turn.
"In the collision, both the dog and the woman, aged in her 20s, suffered injuries that are not believed to be serious.
"We have managed to trace the driver of the Astra, who initially left the scene, and now need to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident."
