Will Quince may be of the opinion that better roads will help unlock potential (County Standard, March 15).
More cars, and more lorries certainly do have the potential for more air pollution, more ill health, more danger, more deterrent to exercise and further limitation to childhood freedoms.
He should widen his perspective to include alternatives and push for investment in rail, and decent cycling and walking infrastructure in the town.
Then the people who live here and who move here will be able to enjoy a more pleasant and healthier environment.
Or would he like to move to Copford and see the A12 re-routed through his back garden?
