VANDALS have smashed the windscreen of a car blocking a pub’s defibrillator.
The Audi A4 was left on the pavement outside the Foundry Arms in Artillery Street, Colchester, last Sunday and has been there ever since.
Landlord Chris Potts warned the potentially life-saving equipment would not be accessible because of where the car had been parked and said it could become a magnet for vandalism.
He was awoken on Friday morning to see police inspecting the car.
He said: “Somebody put the windscreen in but it is still there.
“We have been speaking to the council again but they are still not interested and are telling me it is down to the police.”
“I was in bed at 1.40am on Friday morning and saw police looking up and down but it hasn’t been moved.”
Pub goers raised £2,000 for the equipment after a friend’s life was saved in Cambridge because a defibrillator was nearby.
