A FRUSTRATED landlord is furious after a car was dumped on the pavement outside his pub, blocking a £2,000 community defibrillator his regulars helped pay for.

Chris Potts, the boss of The Foundry Arms in Artillery Street, Colchester, noticed an Audi A4 parked close to the potentially life saving equipment on Monday morning.

Since then the car has not been moved, despite Mr Potts imploring Essex Police and Colchester Council for something to be done but neither have been able to help.

Mr Potts said: “It doesn’t seem like anyone is interested.

"It is taxed and insured.

“It looks like it was left there on Sunday afternoon.

“I saw it as soon as I opened the curtains on Monday and it has not been moved and it is getting very frustrating.

"I have put it on Facebook and am getting messages of people threatening to put the windows in or damage it which I do not want to happen because it will only cause more problems.

"It is right on the pavement and people are getting up in arms about it because they donated a lot of money to help pay for it.

"If you needed to use the defibrillator then you would not be able to get to it.

"It is so close to it and we just want it shifted."

Staff and customers raised the cash for the equipment after one based in Cambridge saved a regular's life.

After months of fundraising they eventually got it installed on the wall outside the pub in December 2014.
