COUPLES looking to tie the knot are being invited to a Wedding Fair and Open Day at Clacton’s Princes Theatre later this month.

The free event, taking place on Sunday, January 20, will see the theatre jam-packed with local wedding-related businesses all under one roof.

There will be everything from florists and photographers, to cake makers and car providers, and even dresses and hairdressers to look at for hints, tips, or to book for your own ceremony.

It also gives couples a chance to check out the Princes Theatre, in Station Road, which itself can be booked as a wedding venue for brides and grooms-to-be.

The theatre will be set up to showcase the venue for potential brides and grooms looking at getting married there.

Mick Skeels, cabinet member for leisure and tourism at Tendring Council, which runs the theatre, urged those looking to get married to come along.

“Whether you’ve set a date yet or have only just become engaged – or perhaps you just like weddings – then come along to the Wedding Fair and Open Day,” he said

“There will be local businesses there which can help with every aspect of your big day, so if you have a blank canvas or one final thing to arrange, this event can be a big help to you.

“Also take the time to consider the Princes Theatre as a venue if you’ve not yet chosen where to tie the knot.

"The theatre and events team always work hard to make your special day even more fantastic and it really is a great place to make your vows.”

The fair runs from 11am until 3pm.
