A NEIGHBOUR called for help after a fire broke out in a bedroom next door.
Firefighters were called to Hunwicke Road in Colchester at about 5.40pm yesterday.
Two crews from Colchester and one from Wivenhoe attended.
A neighbour had noticed smoke coming from the house, and it turned out a fire had started in a first floor bedroom.
The fire was out by 6.30pm.
Firefighters carried out an investigation but were unable to establish the cause of the fire.
Around half of the bedroom has been damaged by the fire and the whole first floor of the house has suffered smoke damage.
