CANNABIS plants were seized when officers executed a drugs raid in Clacton.
Shocked residents reported seeing a large police presence in Marine Parade East at around 8am on Friday.
One resident, who asked not to be named, said: “We heard the smash like a window breaking.
“I went to the window and saw a lot of police outside a house, fully kitted up. They rammed their way in and came out with all this stuff in evidence bags, but I couldn’t see what it was.”
Officers including Clacton’s community policing team acted on intelligence to execute a warrant at the property.
A 24-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “We have arrested a man on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and producing cannabis after executing a warrant in Clacton.
“We searched a property in Marine Parade East at around 8.05am and arrested a 24-year-old man. He remains in custody for questioning. During the search we found a number of cannabis plants and cash.”
