AS temperatures soared over the weekend residents in Mayland cooled off by taking part in the village’s third annual water fight.
The event was held in Lawling Park saw residents of all ages take up their water pistols in an effort to win the cup as temperatures nudged 30°C.
It was organised by Dan Williams and Jay Stammers who first came up with the idea back in 2016. On Sunday the red team came out on top retaining the title for a second year.
Mr Williams said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in either team, hope you all had fun.”
The duo thanked the judges, Rob Webb and family for supplying the water, Maldon Council for loaning eight wheelie bins for the day and Mayland Parish Council for allowing the event to go ahead.
