POLICE forces have arrested a man in connection with a burglary after a chase through Maldon.
Residents have reported numerous police cars and ambulances in the town, with a police helicopter circling over the town centre.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Officers have just arrested a male who fled on foot from the scene of a pursuit in Maldon this afternoon.
"Officers are still on the scene."
One witness told the Standard: "There were police cars, ambulances and the helicopter in the town.
"There were lots of police sirens just after 3pm."
