A MAN who was found dead in Mayland killed himself, an inquest heard.
Essex Police were called to land near a skate park on Katonia Avenue in Mayland on March 26 this year with reports of a body being found.
The body was later identified as Gheorghe Ciobanu, 47, of Chelmsford. Mr Ciobanu was declared dead on arrival.
A post mortem examination was carried out which found that Mr Ciobanu had died as a result of hanging by the neck.
At the documentary inquest at Essex Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, coroner Eleanor McGann said: “On Sunday March 26 Mr Gheorghe Ciobanu walked out of his place of work shortly after 11am in Chelmsford giving no apparent reasoning to his employers.
Shortly before 4pm the same day, the authorities were alerted to a body that had been found in a park in Mayland, which was later identified to be Mr Ciobanu.
“A subsequent report from his mother, who lives in Romania, told that he had been under a great deal of stress from problems with his relationship and work.
“His mother received a call from him that day to say that he couldn’t deal with the issues he faced, and that he was going to kill himself.
“His mother said she had tried to calm him down over the phone, but this did not work.
“I hereby conclude that Gheorghe Ciobanu sadly took his own life, and his death was caused by suicide. I send my sympathies to his family and friends.”
