Writtle library will be operating reduced hours from this Friday 25 November.
The changes come following a decision by the Post Office to move their service elsewhere in the village.
Cllr Brown, Cabinet Member responsible for libraries at Essex County Council said: “Following the Post Office’s decision to move their counter away from the shared building, we will be changing the opening hours to ensure we can continue to man the building six days a week.
“We understand the importance of the library to the village, and we hope over the coming months to recruit more volunteers to allow us to extend the hours further.”
Opening hours from Friday 25 November:
Monday 9am to 1pm
Tuesday 1pm to 5pm
Wednesday 9am to 1pm
Thursday 1pm to 5pm
Friday 9am to 1pm
Saturday 9am to 1pm
Anyone interested in becoming a library service volunteer for Writtle library should contact the Parish Clerk, David Walker on clerkwrittlepc@btconnect.com or speak to a member of staff at the library.
