BURNHAM Town Council will be considering making all documents discussed at town council meetings available for public viewing prior to them taking place.
At the annual meeting in the council offices on Wednesday April 27, Nick Gilmour submitted the resolution to have all documents made available to the public in advance of a town council meeting.
Town Clerk David McNeill said that although the council are not legally required to make all documents available, public interest in the issue means that the council will consider the resolution.
He said: “A lot of information about the issues the Town Council discuss is available to the public during and after meetings with handouts.
“I shall have to refer to the full council to see what we are legally required to do, but there is no reason why we shouldn’t."
Burnham Town Council will discuss the resolution during their meeting on May 25.
