Lifeboat crews helped get a man with leg injuries from a yacht into an ambulance.
The Southend coastguard rescue team helped the 73-year-old man, who was in a yacht alongside the Essex Marine, River Crouch at about 10am yesterday.
He was taken to hospital for further treatment.
At 3.35pm the West Mersea RNLI inshore lifeboat was tasked to help a 37ft yacht, with three people and two dogs on board, which was aground on the River Blackwater.
The yacht maintained hourly communications checks with Thames Coastguard to ensure the welfare of those aboard, then later refloated on the incoming tide and made its way to Bradwell Marina.
