High-speed internet services are set to hit parts of the district this year.
Maldon District Council had paid £90,994 to Essex County Council to join the front of the queue to be part of the Superfast Essex £13million rollout of faster internet speeds.
A new BT contract aims to connect at least 87 per cent of homes and businesses with speeds of up to 24Mbps.
