A national gym chain is planning to open up at a brand new retail park.
PureGym has made a call to be the next business to open its doors at the Blackwater Retail Park in The Causeway, Heybridge.
The chain which is now the largest in the UK with 230 facilities across the country said it will be an "affordable and flexible" service for the public.
A spokesman said: "The proposed gym at Blackwater Retail Park will comprise a main gym area, studio, free weights area, spin area and functional zone.
"In addition, changing facilities will be provided, as well as staff facilities.
"It will be part of PureGym’s role out of its small-format gym facility designed to serve smaller catchment areas and the proposed gym will be one of the first of its type in the UK."
The gym will be just 642 sq m in size, a lot smaller than many PureGyms in the nearby area.
It would employ two full time and eight part time staff, that would be brought in and the gym would be open, seven days a week, 24-hours a day.
