A village’s war memorials have been united for the first time.
Steeple has had two separate stone war memorial tablets for the past 90 years, with one in St Lawrence and All Saints’ Church, in The Street, and the other in the congregational chapel in Batts Road.
But the two, which each contain some names not featured on the other, have now been united at the church following the completion of a £2,000 project led by Steeple Parish Council.
