DETERMINED campaigners are desperately hoping a court decision could save the Dengie Hundred from being "ruined" by a third wind farm.
Renewable energy developer RES lodged an 11th-hour appeal against Maldon District Council’s decision to refuse permission for seven 125 metre-high turbines to be built on Turncole Farm, between Burnham and Southminster.
However, members of the campaign group Southminster Inhabitants Environmental Group Enterprise (Siege) are hopeful that a legal precedent may help their battle.
A scheme to build four turbines mear Hemsby, in Norfolk, was rejected on appeal last week in favour of local conservation policy.
