A bomb threat has forced a Ryanair flight from Stansted Airport to be diverted mid-flight.
According to the BBC, the plane was among several across Europe targeted by threats on Thursday, disrupting air travel in multiple countries.
The Ryanair flight, which took off from London Stansted bound for Sofia, was diverted to Plovdiv in Bulgaria as a precaution.
Other flights affected included an Aer Lingus service from Dublin to Rome, which was diverted to Evreux airbase in northern France, and a Wizzair flight from Milan to Warsaw, which landed in Vienna.
A Finnair plane travelling from Helsinki to Rome landed safely in the Italian capital despite the threat.
Passengers experienced delays and disruption as a result of the diversions.
The threats follow similar incidents reported earlier in the week, with at least seven flights affected two days prior.
