Passengers travelling by rail through Essex this morning are being warned of delays after a signalling fault disrupted services on some of the county's busiest routes.
The issue is affecting trains running through the Chelmsford area, with services having to slow down while engineers work to resolve the problem.
Greater Anglia has confirmed that a fault with the signalling system between Chelmsford and Beaulieu Park is causing delays, with disruption expected until around 10am on Monday, September 28.
A number of routes are affected, including services between London Liverpool Street and Norwich, Ipswich, Clacton, Colchester Town and Braintree.
In an update to passengers, Greater Anglia said trains are being delayed as they are being cautioned past signals while the fault is investigated.

A spokesperson said: “There is a signal system fault between Chelmsford and Beaulieu Park. Services are being delayed whilst trains are cautioned past signals.
“Network Rail engineers are en route to the location.”
Greater Anglia and Network Rail have apologised to customers affected by the disruption.
The train operator has advised passengers that advance ticket holders can travel on earlier or later services if their booked train is cancelled.
Passengers delayed by 15 minutes or more may also be entitled to compensation through Greater Anglia's Delay Repay scheme.
Travellers are being urged to check the latest service information before setting off, as delays may continue throughout the morning while repairs are carried out.
