Shelves are emptying as a major retailer prepares to close its Essex store for good today.
The Marks & Spencer store on Arthur Ransome Way, Walton, opened in 2018.
Company bosses confirmed in May that the shop would close for good today.
Pictures from inside the store show shelves emptying ahead of its 7pm closure tonight.
After the closure, M&S will focus on its store at Clacton Brook Retail Park.
The shop created 50 jobs when it opened.
M&S says it is speaking to staff and “working hard to redeploy as many colleagues to nearby stores as possible”.
Regional manager Will Holden previously said: "I’d like to thank everyone who has shopped with us at the store over the years and we will continue working hard to serve you over the coming months, and in future at our nearby Clacton Brook Park food hall.”
News of the closure in March saddened residents, who started a petition to keep the store open.
More than 2,400 people signed the petition calling for the store to remain open, but M&S confirmed it would proceed with the closure.
