Transport police are appealing for witnesses after a man was allegedly struck with a bottle during an attempted robbery at an Essex railway station.

The incident occurred outside Harlow railway station at around 12.50am on Saturday 29 August.

The victim, a man, was reportedly in the taxi rank area when approached by a group of males demanding money.

An altercation ensued, during which the man was allegedly struck with a glass bottle, resulting in a head injury.

The group then fled along Station Approach.

British Transport Police (BTP) detectives believe several witnesses may have seen the incident and are urging them to come forward.
