THE public is invited to share their views on the future of Maldon Museum and the possibility of developing an arts and culture centre at Promenade Park.
Maldon District Council is seeking feedback through a new survey to help shape its recommendations, with a report expected to be presented in July.
Councillor Simon Morgan, leader of Maldon District Council, said: "I would encourage everyone to take part in the survey and help shape the future of culture and heritage provision in Maldon district.
"The council welcomes feedback from all those with an interest in the museum, Promenade Park and the wider cultural life of the district.
"By taking part, residents and visitors can ensure their views are considered as the council develops its proposals and prepares its report for July."
The museum, which holds a significant place in the district’s heritage, requires investment and modernisation to improve its appeal and long-term sustainability.
As part of a broader review of the site, the council is considering whether an arts and culture centre could offer additional value.
The concept under review would provide a flexible venue for exhibitions, workshops, performances, public talks and community-led displays, complementing the museum’s core offer.

Early cost estimates for the centre are between £2 million and £3 million, dependent on detailed requirements.
No formal decision has been made, and the council is seeking a broad range of views before any recommendations are finalised.
The survey is available on the Maldon District Council website.
