A NEW bingo event in Maldon is promising singalongs, prizes and community spirit in support of rescue dogs.

The Sports Lounge, a new social space behind Morrisons at Wycke Hill Business Park, is launching a monthly Charity Daytime Bingo and Music Bingo session this month with plans to support a different charity with every event.

The first session is raising funds for The Little Doggie Rescue Shop on the High Street, which has helped rescue more than 11,000 dogs since 2013 and provided vet care, food, and safe, loving homes.

Organisers say they have been “blown away” by support from Maldon businesses, with prizes already donated by Sark, Duck Nails, LVR Beauty Lounge, Maldon Coffee Company, Scalp by Sami, Farleigh Hospice, Young’s Pie & Mash, Craft Beer Maldon, Top Man Barbershop and Church Boxing.

The Sports Lounge, created by owner Darrel Church, has quickly grown into a hub for the community, hosting youth clubs and sports classes.

Organisers are encouraging families, friends and residents of all ages to come along, have a laugh and raise money for a good cause.

The first bingo session is Friday, May 22, from 12pm to 2pm. Eyes down will be at 12.20pm, with players invited to enjoy classic bingo alongside music bingo, where the numbers are swapped for songs.

Places can be booked online via www.bookwhen.com/thesportslounge.
