MECHANICAL and electrical engineering company JR Revell have entered a team into the Maldon Mud Race.

At last year's race, the six-strong JR Revell team raised £5,000.

Amanda Huntingford, office manager at JR Revell, said: "We have once again entered a team of six so excited to see how well we can do.

"We were seriously proud of our apprentice Joss smashing fifth place at the Maldon Mud Race last year...but this year, things just got interesting.

"He's roped in his younger brother Caleb to join the Revell Mud Race Team, and there's nothing like a bit of sibling rivalry to turn up the heat (and the mud).

"So go on... back your favourite, fuel the competition, and get your wallets out - every donation makes a difference."

Brian Farrington, chairman of the event, said: "This year is going to be challenging as we know it’s a tough year so we hope donations will still come in, and stories like this really make a difference.

"The team at JR Revell raised a huge £5k last year so we hope that Joss and brother Caleb will help us again the year, both in great fundraising and great fun!

"May the best man win!"
