A man from Heybridge has denied breaking into a former bank building in Maldon.
Daniel Wood appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday.
The 44-year-old is alleged to have burgled the former Halifax bank property in Maldon’s High Street on February 11 as a trespasser with the intent to steal.
The building has been vacant since June 2023, when the bank moved out, and an application to revive the property by splitting it has been rejected by Maldon District Council.
Earlier this year, Wood admitted one count of being the owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control at the same date and address.
The bully cross breed did not cause any injury, court documents show.
Wood, of Romanhurst, was remanded into custody and is awaiting trial this July.
